![]() Many people are in too much of a rush with the process of Training. What happened to enjoying Training? Enjoying each step? Each fail? Each time we ask our Dog to give a behaviour and they say 🖕 Training is a journey. It's not an a to b situation. It's not a motorway. It's a drive through the highlands. It's taking wrong turns. It's narrow lanes. It's reversing to a passing place. It's sheep and cows blocking the road. It's blasting the horn at the farmer who's still in the field. It's time consuming. It's a journey and all the time we are Training. Getting frustrated. Throwing the towel in 🕛🕧🕐🕜🕑🕝🕒🕓🕟🕔 time is passing our Dogs are aging 🐶🐕🌁🌆🌇🌃🌉⛼🌇 and then sadly it comes time they have to leave us 🌈 and what will we remember. The fun and the laughter and the "Oh do you remember when Fluffy did...😂" or will it just be a faded memory of frustrations with Training? I know for me I look back and smile fondly at every single Dog I have ever Trained be it recently or back when I was a kid and I have fond stories of them all. You don't just purchase or Rescue a Dog. You have a family member. A lifelong commitment. A best friends for their short life. Not ours. Laughter. Joy and unconditional love. It is up to us to accept their gracious and humble behaviour to make our lives more enjoyable. Because our Dogs only care about spending time with us. So should we not return the favour? Someone recommended me in a comment in a local selling group today about how fantastic I am and I don't scare Dogs. No I never ever would. If a Dog wants to give me every behaviour I ask for great! If a Dog wants to educate me and make me work for their behaviour I desire. Bonus because every Dog is a learning tool just like we are to them. Love your Dog. Enjoy your Dog. Treasure them and every bad ass unwanted behaviour. To become a fond memory of your Training journey. You will arrive at your destination but why not enjoy it along the way?
