Keeping up with Contact

As many of you know who already know or work with me. I am very busy. I don't always get chance to answer urgent messages etc. So I have 2 admins on this page Tracyanne Brittain who also assists at Classes and Shirley J Houston Morley who assists with one to one sessions from time to time. So sometimes you may see posts or comments from either of these 2 ladies and not myself. So between the three of us your messages will always be answered promptly. I will never message or chase anyone. Everyone can feel free to message me at any point for any reason especially if we are already working together. However I will not chase, harass or push my services on you. I don't work that way and treat others how I would like to be treated myself 🐶 as well as this as a young woman who lives alone and enters people's homes both ladies may be made aware time to time where I am working and this was advised by the Princes Trust and the Police as a lone worker. Nothing private and confidential will ever be shared and as stated in contract photos maybe used or experiences maybe shared to help or inform others unless without express consent not given 🐶

Everyone Matters

My human clients are just as important as my Doggy clients. Working with James today we found out we share the same interests in TV and film and we had a really good laugh with James quoting one liners as well as Training Simba. #peoplematterasmuchastheDogs 🐶

Have fun during training. Train. Take a break. Train. Take a break. Make training fun. Bring out the excitement and the eagerness in your Dog to train. Help them rather than hinder them. Excite them. Bond with them and you can't go wrong 💜Have fun during training. Train. Take a break. Train. Take a break. Make training fun. Stimulation

If your Dog is energetic and always on the go or destructive in the home these toys are great. They mentally stimulate your Dog. Slow feeders have come along way from being a moulded maze bowl. Diesel has one just for play. He also has a puzzle game out friend kindly brought him. A snuffle mat handmade by our friends (and there are more on sale if wanted). And the cup is for demonstration purposes. I fill plastic cups with treats and then top with Dog gravy and water and then freeze it. Once it's frozen I just run it under the cold tap and give it to Diesel. It keeps him entertained for ages. And as the plastic is removed he doesn't need to be supervised. There is alot of controversy around snuffle mats and interactive toys. However if your Dog is destructive there is nothing stopping you giving these items to your Dog half an hour before you leave to stimulate them and help them to be tired for when you do go. Obviously I cannot speak for every Dog but whenever Diesel does either scentwork or plays with the toys in the photo he will have a deep sleep for at the very least an hour depending on how active I am as he tends to follow me as many of you know. But this has also helped him to relax and continue to sleep without having to follow me. So personally these items really work for us. Why not give them a try yourself. All available on Amazon. Snuffle mats also or Muttsnmischief have them available to purchase.
For the frozen cup. All you need is...
Disposable plastic cup
Dog Gravy or water or Dog ice cream/ yoghurt
Dog treats (be it dry or raw foods)
I always put a chew in (Natures menu do some amazing freezable chews)
Or another option is frozen chicken wings, duck necks or the other Natures Menu frozen range of Dog chews which as well as being mentally stimulating helps keep your Dog cool in the Summer as well as helping your Dog to relax away from the heat ☀️🐶☀️

Thelma and Louise

Frustrating isn't it. If you have or have never seen this film. One of the most famous questions since the Big Bang Theory. Did Thelma and Louise make it or didn't they? I'm using this analogy to explain that this applies to Dog Training. If you don't commit to Training or keep up with it how can you ever know the true potential of your Dog? Any Dog Trainer can give you the tools to Train your Dog but only you can use them and keep up with them. Any man can be taught to fish. But certainly not in one session. Sure you can grasp the basics such as the clock analogy on how to cast off but what about the technique? What about how to successfully fish and catch a fish? Again this applies to Dog Training there are so many analogies I can use to demonstrate this.
Having a Dog is a commitment and if you want them to be trained and well behaved then this is also a commitment. Dog Trainers never ever stop learning. Dog owners can never ever stop learning. A Dog can never ever stop learning. But it's how you use the tools and whether you want to learn more about the tools which will determine the relationship with your Dog as well as their desired behaviour. After all a Dogs brain is that of a 2 year old infant. It's how you shape and influence that mind and brain in which you will see your wanted influence 🐶

Or are you looking for support and would like to get to know us better?

If the answer is yes then click the image below to join my free facebook group. What is Mutts & Mischief Community!

So it is what it says on the tin! Its a community that is international of clients and colleagues with the most supportive and friendly people on the planet. Dog Trainers and behaviourists from all over the world!

Why did I set up such a mammoth group?

I wanted to have a group exclusively for clients. For support and build on friendships from classes or individual consults. I want clients to see you are not alone with your dog and the problem you maybe having that you are not the first and won't be the last! I wanted a safe place where clients could trade stories good and bad in one place for free!

I also wanted a safe place for the trainers and behaviourists I mentor too.

Why do this for free?

Because when I say I offer an holistic service I really do. It isn't about the money it is about you and your dogs. You and your dogs are all that matter.

So I wanted to encourage people to do homework and build better quality relationships with their dogs. So 5 years ago I had a mad idea and set up the 100 days of dog training challenge in 2019. Once a day people would spend 5 minutes plus training their dog. Recording it and uploading their video onto the community. Every participant received a certificate.

What I didn't count on was how many professionals wanted to join and how fast word would spread. So in 2020 I set up a 366 days of dog training challenge.

We have clients in America, Greece, Norway, Denmark and Spain. We have Trainers from Greece, Norway, Isle of Wight, America and many more countries. As well as dog trainers and trainee behaviourists: I mentor all over the world.

So yes this group is free. It is still primarily for clients and for people to get to know me but we now have Pawsitive Wednesdays running, where I share a narrated free video tutorial for you to try with your dog and all are welcome to upload their video to the group for support from members!
