have thought long and hard about posting this but following my post last night from earlier this week I felt it was important that you can all identify with me. And I comfortable enough with you all to share this as I think you are all awesome. When I begin working with many of you, you feel that there is no light at the end of the tunnel and that euthanasia is your last option for your beloved Dog. You have little faith in me, but come to me because of my recommendations. You feel despondent, isolated, depressed and alone with your Dog that your finding hard to manage. Many of you feel worse when you see me handling your Dog and getting an automatic positve behaviour from your Dog.
I explain this to you all, all of the time as a kind of mantra; 🙈When it is not fun anymore stop, yep just like the Gambling awareness signs. As soon as your getting stressed with your Dog, stop the training take a break try again either later or at another time. Why? Because your stressing both yourselves out. 🙈 The Grandparent effect. I come to you and handle your Dog for around an hour, I have no stress, nerves or fear of your Dog, their behviour of them embarassing me. Many of you know my feelings to judgy people and I do this 🖕 for many of you it boosts your confidence. 🙈 Many of you do not realise I grew up with reactive and aggressive Dogs. Chilled out Dogs was something unknown to me. Hence why I have no fear and do not think for a minute it was easy or not scary or that I did not get injured because I did. Alot. But I was taught and self learnt from a very young age to manage these reactive and aggressive Dogs. 🙈Yes, I do know how you feel. I have been frustrated, fed up, felt lost at times, working with Dogs and personal Dogs too. I have felt isolated and alone in this industry at times. I have felt frustrated for owners, I have felt frustrated for Rescues, for the industry, for Colleagues and associates, fed up with the law, fed up with other peoples behaviours... the list is endless. 🙈I have worked with hundreds upon hundreds of Dogs, this is second nature to me and as I always say another mantra, chances are I COULD NOT DO YOUR JOB. You pay me for a reason, to come and train your Dogs, you check ou my qualifcations and reviews for a reason. I will most likely come to you in your place of work for a Service of some description and have absolutely no idea how the hell you do your job. And the old age saying, I was raised to respect the Janitor applies as I am only human and nothing special and I look up to and admire people both in my own industry and other industries whether it is with Animals, Health Care, Artists, Shops, whatever I respect everyone, we are all equal. 🙈 I am not a Dog Whisperer I am just me. 🙈 I do not come into your home to berate you or criticise you or your way of living or the behaviours you allow your Dogs such as sitting on the Sofa, the bed etc yada yada yada. YOUR HOME, YOUR RULES, YOUR BEST FRIEND 🙈Yes, just like you I can get down and depressed, and sure obviously for different reasons than yourselves. Dr, Sophie Yin, a renowned behaviourist recently committed suicide aged only 48 years old. Ceaser Milan (whether you like him or not) attempted suicide a few years ago. Around 30 Vets a year commit suicide and because of this the Royal Veterinairan Surgeons have a dedicated helpine called Vetlife, which receives 1.285 calls per year!!! We, too can get depressed and despondent. We don't just deal with the odd Dog, we deal with different ones day in day out, with different stories and backgrounds, different needs, risks and goals. 🙈Yes in my job over the years, I have been injured alot, for varying reaons. It is my profession, my specialist skills, my choice, so injuries is an Occupational Hazard another reason I am insured. This is my choice and I much prefer when you laugh with me about it 😂 🙈YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! 🙈@miyagis dog training advie is your port of call for a support network from fellow owners. 🙈There is hope. All you have to do is follow the advice, the Training and the homework. Have an open mind, determination and find the love and the bond for your Dog once again ❤❤❤ PS I have all the time in the world and the UPMOST RESPECT for you all who seek out Training, Support and help there is no shame 💚💚💚

Many of us have seen this picture floating around Facebook etc for the last couple of years... on first appearance it's funny. Memes are funny that's the point. Tonight at class people were saying to me about people seeing their Dogs as cute and encouraging them to jump up. You have to guide people. Stand tall and say no please don't encourage my Dog to jump up. No thankyou please don't give my Dogs treats. It is humans who encourage this behaviour. And we as their owners need to back our Dogs up. We need to help them out. They don't know to automatically not jump up at people nor do they know when it is OK and not OK to jump up unless we guide them. We cannot expect or assume behaviours from our Dogs. First we must help them out to encourage them in their training and to gain desired behaviours from them. If we don't have their backs the Dogs aren't to blame 🐶 Check out super star Harry meeting a new person today. No growling. No barking. No stress. He was so relaxed and chilled. He hadn't seen myself for a month or so last Thursday and all he did was give me love.Thisboyissosoawesome. #germanshepherdsrock #hesnotawolf#alpharollingsucks #dogsshouldbetrainedasDogsnotwolves#loveandpatiencegoessuchalongway 🐶
When I say I will work with in your home or area of your choice. I literally mean it and this includes work places too. This is Teddy at Beauty Box Skegness working on his work manners. I've also worked with Dogs at Memorial homes, Care Homes, Shops, Caravan Sites, Security sites, Offices, Garages, Farms, Pubs, Workshops, Hair salons, hotels and restaurants. I will help you in every aspect of your Dogs life and environments 🐶 Enjoy taking the Dog out. Don't see it as a chore. Don't do a quick walk around the block. Make the walk meaningful. Don't charge off with them and yank them away from every scent. Don't hurriedly walk past other Dogs. Don't be glued to your phone. Bond with your Dog. Many of you during training like to talk to me about different things. What if I said. "No, come on we have to hurry. No, no don't observe that, no let's change the subject. No I'm not talking about that. Come on were on a timer here." Just plain damn rude isn't it? Would possibly make you feel like I'm an ass hole and that you don't want to be around me. You would feel unfulfilled and possibly sad or you would feel outraged and want to go home and tell someone about it or storm around the house chuntering and banging things? When people say that their Dog comes back from a walk and has zoomies... let's think why? Not there yet. You took them around the block and didn't let them smell the smells they wanted to smell. You urged them to "go toilet then" and hurriedly came back home and unclipped the lead. Your Dog is unfulfilled. They were so psyched to go for a wall. Their nose is their chocolate. Their favourite TV programme. Their favourite past time. Their thing to look forward to. Yes Dogs look forward to things and experiences just the same as we do. If it rains or snows so what take the time to take your Dog out for a meaningful walk. Throw the wellies on and brave that muddy field. Drive to the beach. Walk to the woods. Start thinking if I was a Dog with a really powerful olfactury bulb of a nose where would I like to go for a walk? Start thinking like that and you can't go wrong. Bond with your Dog enjoy your Dog and stop applying human moral compasses to Dogs 🐶 A busy day today. Two Romanian Shepherd Rescues and a Miniature Labradoodle. All making fantastic progress and when the kids are involved, taking control and learning and teaching it's just amazing. Kids should never be excluded from training and they should always be included to train. Their interests and passion for Training should always be encouraged. If I did not have the encouragement as a child I wouldn't be where I am today 🐶 keep it up guys 🐶 I travel alot for my job and it's important to me to build and maintain good relationships for lack of a better word "associates" I can highly recommend the local pet shops and they too can recommend me from testimonies from joint Clients. Yes this is a typical weekly shop for a Dog Trainer and Diesel lol. These local pet shops rely on the community and we in turn rely on them to supply our animals. As well as this many of the local pet shops also promote goods for people locally such as Sutton Pet Supplies sells bespoke handmade bandanas and bags made by a local lady. Local businesses are the pillars of our communities 🐶 This is Brian and Daisy. Daisy didn't have the best start to life and little is known of her history. Brian and Macallis got her at 4 months old. Brian and Macallis have worked tirelessly with myself to ensure that she is now on the best track. It's hard work getting a pup especially with one where the background is unknown. It can be emotionally waring to understand why your Dog is cornering herself, why she growls to communicate and struggle to connect when the Dog struggles to enjoy love, attention and fuss. It's been a long road. But we have got there. We now have a firm understanding of Daisys wants, needs, mannerisms and and her human bond. She now enjoys fuss and cuddles. She has better manners now and she's relaxed in herself. Mission accomplished. She will soon be joining us for agility and we can't wait. Every Dog and human I work with teaches me, broadens my knowledge and experience. It's a bonus to come out of training with friends for life 🐶🐾💜 Little Doo Da used to be petrified. He was scared of everything and everyone. I met him before in October. He is 4 years old. His owners couldn't pick him up. He would run and hide. Not only does he now let people pick him up and he is relaxed with this he is now smashing it at his second week at obedience class surrounded by people and Dogs. Well done little dude. You've come a long long way 💜 Don't punish the growl. All Dogs growl and it isn't necessarily always a warning that they are about to bite. Dogs also growl in play, Dogs can only communicate via barking, whining and growling. A growl doesn't always mean "im warning you before I bite!" Some dogs I have worked with even growl in greeting. As humans we have to decipher for ourselves what a Dog is saying. It's more than a growl it's also the body language. When we know our Dogs we know what we are saying. Many people have said to me over the years "are you not scared that Dogs growling" and I'm not. I treat all Dogs like chip pans with water until I know them and we have bonded. I listen to them and observe their body language. I know when to approach a Dog and not to. Don't punish the growl and don't be so quick to correct them when they do growl. If it is a warning growl you will know it is if you know your Dog well and that growl when it is a warning growl stops the Dog progressing to a bite when they are scared or if they truly are aggressive or fear reactive. So respect the growl and don't punish it 🐶
