Today’s tiny check: Foxglove

Those tall spikes of colourful flowers?

Absolutely stunning.

Snack? Definitely not 😅

Foxglove contains cardiac glycosides, which can affect the heart if eaten.

For some dogs, signs may include:

🐾 Vomiting

🐾 Drooling

🐾 Weakness

🐾 Changes in heart rhythm

🐾 Collapse

Thankfully, most dogs aren’t interested in eating foxgloves.

But if you have a curious puppy or an enthusiastic gardener’s helper, it’s worth knowing they’re best admired rather than sampled.

🐾 One small thing to do today:

✔ Know where foxgloves are growing in your garden.

✔ Supervise curious dogs around new plants.

✔ If you’re planning a pet-friendly garden, consider choosing non-toxic alternatives where possible.
