šæ Tiny Toxins: Paws Off Plants š¾
(A little series combining my love of plants and pets šæš¶)
Todayās tiny check: Jade Plant
Those thick, glossy succulent leaves?
Beautiful.
Snack? Not so much š
Jade plants are considered toxic to dogs, although the exact toxic compound isnāt fully understood.
For some dogs, this may mean:
š¾ Vomiting
š¾ Lethargy
š¾ Reduced appetite
š¾ Occasionally, a little wobbliness
Many dogs never show any interest in succulents at all.
But for the occasional curious chewer, theyāre worth keeping in mind.
š¾ One small thing to do today:
ā Check whether your Jade Plant is within easy reach.
ā If your dog enjoys investigating plants, consider placing it on a higher shelf.
ā Rotate enrichment regularly to help satisfy natural exploratory behaviours.
Knowledge helps us make thoughtful choicesānot fearful ones š©µ
