Today’s tiny check: Snake Plant

Those tall, architectural leaves?

Beautiful.

Snack? Not so much 😅

Snake plants contain naturally occurring compounds called saponins, which can cause tummy upset if chewed.

For some dogs, this may mean:

🐾 Drooling

🐾 Vomiting

🐾 Diarrhoea

🐾 Reduced appetite

Before anyone panics — many dogs live happily alongside snake plants and never pay them any attention.

But curious puppies, adolescent dogs, enrichment seekers, stressed dogs, or dogs who explore the world with their mouths may decide to investigate.

🐾 One small thing to do today:

✔ Check where your Snake Plant lives.

✔ Is it within easy reach of an inquisitive nose?

✔ If your dog enjoys sampling plants, consider moving it somewhere less accessible.

✔ Offer plenty of safe chewing and enrichment opportunities too.
