š¾ 2am Dog Questions: Why did my dog suddenly react?
āThey were absolutely fine five minutes ago!ā
And they may well have been.
But the thing immediately before a reaction isnāt necessarily the whole story.
Maybe there was a noise earlier.
A difficult interaction.
Poor sleep.
A frustrating moment.
Something uncomfortable in their body.
A dog staring from across the road.
Then another little thing.
And another.
Until one seemingly tiny event becomes the moment when their system says:
Thatās enough.
We tend to notice the final drop because thatās when we see the behaviour.
But behaviour has a history.
Sometimes that history spans years.
Sometimes it spans twenty minutes.
š¾ Rather than only asking āWhat triggered that?ā, try looking at what came before it too.
Context matters. š©µ
